The first video cast from Wizardgold. I show you how I use STW to place trades in the football market. (soccer for the Yanks)I show you how you can make some money by backing the draw at the start of the match. I discuss scalping the market and basically show you just how easy it is to use STW.

But up slightly over the weekend…..

Well today didn’t go aswell as yesterday. I didn’t lose all the profit from yesterday but I knocked out a portion of it. I had 2 games that lost with the information I have been using from Soccervista.com. That wasn’t so bad really but I was trying the trick where you back the draw then using STW have a simultaneous bet order go in at the same time to lay the draw at a lower price, thus locking in some profit. I did that just before Ipswitch scored. bad timng or what. If it had not been for that I would have broken even today.

As a system though today was a test of it’s robustness. I managed to win enough from the matches that did work right so that a couple of losses didn’t break my bank. I would normally expect better results than I had today so basically if I keep dong what I am doing it will work out OK. As always it is the long term strategy that is all important.

I have started to put together a video that explains a little more about how to use STW to do what I do with Betfair and the football games. I should have it ready in a ay or two.

Real Madrid win

I had a nice little duch on the Real Madrid against Gimnastic of Tarragona. Nastic played well and went one nil up with a penalty and I was starting to wonder if there would be an upset. Nastic are new in la liga uno and are struggling at the bottom of the table but they certainly brought up their game for the home fans, who surely went home impressed by a good game of football even if they didn’t win.
I also had money on PSV Eindoven.

I have a dutch working on the game Mainz vs Werder Bremen. 60 minutes into the game and they are winning 3-0. Excellent stuff. I did work in Bremen many years ago in the Brewery Beck’s Bier. I used to get a free crate of beer every 10 days. I don’t dring the sutff myself but my friends loved my sharing the beer out.
I set up the dutch using STW. I found the option on the flying dutchman form where I could set a percentage of the hedging bet to make money. So if it is set at 0% then I break even when that event happens. Then if I set it to 5% on the hedging bet(on the draw for example) , what it does is slice 5% off the amount you would win on the home win for example. I just thought it was a nice piece of configurablility I found out that was worth telling you about.

I set up a dutch on the game with AZ Alkmaar vz Willem II and I also did a Swedish game with Elfsborg. With Elfsborg I had to spend more than I should have as per my staking plan. My plan is for 5% of the betting bank. I had to do 10% on this one but the profit margin was very good to make it worth doing it. The reason I had to do it was because of the minimum bet amount of 4 euro on Betfair.

Manchester United are playing at Crewe in the Carling Cup. They don’t like to lose and it would be so embarrassing to lose to Crewe. So I have constructed a dutch using STW betting software which has Man U as an earner and the Draw as a hedging bet. It cost me 20.80 euro to set up and will pay €3.22 when Man U win. That is a 15% profit there.

Watford vs Hull

I decided to to dutch the home win and the draw in the Watford vs Hull game in the Carling Cup game. Things are looking good with it still and Watford are 1 nil up at the moment just before half time.

The other game I am looking at is the Alaves vs Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey. It is still nil – nil and with this one I have placed a lay bet on the draw in the expectatioin that it is about time that one of the teams will score, probably Celta Vigo which is a team in the premier league of Spain and Alaves are in the lower division.

The only thing that has to be watched is that cup games can throw up some strange results. continue reading…

Details of the Mallorca game I have had a look at a few games which are given a 10 on the Soccer Vista web site to see whether they are worth doing as a dutch.

A dutch you remember is where you back more than one outcome in a sporting event, could be horses, like 6 horses covered in a 9 horse race or it could be 2 of the 3 possible outcomes in a football game. Well to decide if I should do it or not I have to see what the percentage return is going to be if I win. My preference is when I can get a 20% or more return. The reason for this is that no and then the bet will lose. and you need to know that with the strike rate you have for your system you will make up for the loss in as small a number of bets as possible. continue reading…

Rooney Carragher - Man U vs LiverpoolI used STW today to place a lay bet on the draw at about 30 mins into the game. The first goal came on 39 minutes froom Paul Scholes. I was in and out of the kitchen eating lunch and came back in to see that there was money on the table, so to speak, So I took it. I do like the way in STW that it shows you how much money you will make by cashing in the bet you have going.

You can either choose a free bet or to equalise over the 3 possibilities. I thought that there was a chance that Liverpool could come back and score to bring it to a draw. The gane is almost a derby game, because the cities are so close, therefore hotly contested.

I perhaps could have gone for the free bet and made more money at the end of the game which Man United won 2 – nil in the end. Ferdinand got the second goal, nice to see a defender putting one in the net sometimes isn’t it. continue reading…

Working with the football again today…
Not a great start I had a dutch working on a German Bundesliga game and the home team managed to lose after being 1-0 up at half time. I had been tempted to trade out with a profit while it was at that score – isn’t hindsight just marvelous.

The next one was a lay the draw thing on the Chelsea game. I layed the draw when it was nil – nil just before half time. I also put an insurance bet on the 0-0. For the amount I had on the lay of the draw I perhaps should not have bothered with the insurance. it meant that when the Chelsea goals went in I needed to have really high odds to lock the profit in. So with the game going to 2-0 to Chelsea at Full time I got a small profit out of the game.

Next is Aston Villa versus Fulham. continue reading…
