Betty (BetIE) makes me money and she does it by the trading on Betfair. You probably know by now that my prefered market is the under 2.5 goals market. I do that with the Spanish league and the English Premiership mostly.
The way it works is that you place a back bet at the start of the game and watch the odds get smaller with the passing of time with no goals being scored. The average time for the first goal in football games is 37 minutes. So there is a good chance that there won’t be a goal in the first 20 minutes say. In that time you will be able to lay off your back bet in chunks and by the 20th minute you will be greened up and in the money what ever happens in the game.
An added technique with this is to look at the game when it is near to the end and if there are still no goals or only one goal you might consider placing a back bet to put all the money on the unders and some risk on the overs. You will make a bit more money this way. Or you can leave it as it is and have money whatever happens.
One of the really great things about Betty is that you can try out techniques without risk because of the learning mode. There is no time limit on the learning mode once you have bought BetIE and it is invaluable to be able to see over a long period how the technique work and also to try out things to save matters when things don’t go the way expected for example an early goal in a football game. There are things that you can do so that you can still make money on the game or at least trade out to either no loss or only a small one.
The thing I like about the unders market is that it is guaranteed that the odds will go down in the course of the game when there are no goals. If it starts at 1.90 at the begining of the game then you can expect to see movement towards 1.80 and 1.70 as the game progresses. Ho much money you make depends on how much risk you want to take. Obviously the longer you leave it, the more money but more chance of a goal going in. You could be very successful by putting on bets of a reasonable size and being happy taking a small number of market ticks in each game.
