I have had a look at a few games which are given a 10 on the Soccer Vista web site to see whether they are worth doing as a dutch.
A dutch you remember is where you back more than one outcome in a sporting event, could be horses, like 6 horses covered in a 9 horse race or it could be 2 of the 3 possible outcomes in a football game. Well to decide if I should do it or not I have to see what the percentage return is going to be if I win. My preference is when I can get a 20% or more return. The reason for this is that no and then the bet will lose. and you need to know that with the strike rate you have for your system you will make up for the loss in as small a number of bets as possible.
It is no good winning planty of times with small percentage. Only to have all your winnings wiped out with one loss. I will go into this in more detail in another post but for now all I can say is that because of the odds available on BetFair I did not bet on most of the games that came up in Soccer Vista as possiblities. An 8% profit was all that was there on a couple of games and it is not enough for the strike rate of this system. You have to work this way to protect your betting bank. Better to do fewer bets but make profit in the long run than to do everything that comes along and lose money.
So what did I choose then? I did a dutch on the match between Mallorca and Real Sociedad. Let you know later how it goes……
Update :- The game was a nil nil draw. I make money anyway, slightly less than if Mallorca had won – Now I am of to see the game between Barça and Real Madrid. Will be a tight game. I am hoping that the absence of Eto is not going to be a huge factor.
Do you notice that there is a red box in the picture above which shows that I could trade out to a small loss if I wanted to. It also shows the individual amount on each part of the trade in the boxes below. Giving an amount for the Free bet and an amount for the equalisation of the profits over all possibilities
